Calgary police are investigating a three-vehicle crash at Macleod Trail and 12th Avenue SE that left one person dead and several others injured.
Police say they were called to the crash involving a taxi, an SUV and a sedan just before 2 a.m. MT. Six people were injured but a man in his 40s died later in hospital. Police confirm he was the driver of the taxi.
A passenger in the taxi, a female in her 20s, was taken to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
Four men were also injured in the crash and are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, Calgary EMS said.
Police don't know the cause of the crash but they believe alcohol may be a factor.
