Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun assures Ogun Workers better welfare package
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state, Southwest, Nigeria has assured the state civil servants of a better welfare package.
He re-assured them of his total commitment to their welfare, which he promised to always consider.
The governor stated this on Thursday at the State Secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta at a gathering organised by the state workers to mark the governor’s re-election.
Amosun, who was in company of the State Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Adekunle appreciated them for their support over the last four years.
It would be recalled that the relationship between the present administration and the workers in the state went sour briefly before the governorship election over the workers’ allegations that the government had illegally deducted some money from their salaries.
The opposition also issued a false statement that the governor is planning to sack over 5,000 workers if he is re-elected into office, an allegation the government described s malicious, wicked and untrue.
Addressing the workers today, Amosun said: “we have just started, this second term will be the best ever for civil servants, our workers will start enjoying this administration.
“When I will be leaving this place in the next four years, I want this state to be the best in terms of workers welfare and that is why I am asking for your support,” he pledged.
Amosun asked the workers for their continuous support saying, “we can’t achieve much without you, this is our government, don’t allow anybody to come between us, it is not Amosun alone but all of us.
“We must all work together and move the state forward, we have more work ahead of us, we will still keep our eyes on the ball. You are the government, I am only the governor,” Amosun affirmed.
